Certified Welder's

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Must be able to use hand tools.

Must be able to read weld/assembly blueprints.

Welds all subassemblies into completed components using correct welding processes.

Tack welds all subassemblies and components.

Prepares all related paperwork

Self inspection of work performed.

May be required to assist in training of new employees in classification.

Identifies and corrects problems.

Tracks problems and seeks solutions to them.

Other job responsibilities and required skills associated with this position that are in the job matrix.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or hire date prior to 5/10/96.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to read a tape measure.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  May be required to have a forklift and crane licenses.  Will be required to pass welding certifications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to welding fumes, grinding dust, and weld arc.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. THE EMPLOYEE IS EXPOSED TO LONG HOURS OF WORK EACH DAY.

 Welder's Helper

Job Purpose

Basic Function: The operator is responsible for grinding and And torch cutting, shearing, press brake, rolling to the highest quality obtainable.

Key Duties & Responsibilites

  • Understands basic tooling, its purpose and how to evaluate wear limits and change parts as required.

  • Can perform daily preventative maintenance on machine

  • Must communicate with leads, supervisors and planners on a daily basis

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Responsible for dimensional and quality of the area being grinded

  • Understands basic wear limits of tooling and changes such before associated tool failure

  • Play an active role in processes by working and communicating with Planning, Quality, and Peers to identify and implement ways to improve flow to increase throughput.

Required Skills/Experience

To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined above for this position in a satisfactory manner.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position.

 High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not necessay

Work Environment – This position will require working indoors and outdoors and manufacturing (machine shop) environment.  Needs the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.  There is also planned and unplanned overtime. THIS JOB REQUIRES LONG HOURS. THE EMPLOYEE IS EXPOSED TO LONG HOURS OF WORK EACH DAY.
